BAS Library

The Brisbane Anime Society operates a free lending library for the benefit of club members. The library contains discs of digital anime episodes in a variety of formats. All titles are original Japanese audio with English subtitles unless noted otherwise. The library does not contain titles which are currently licensed for commercial release within Australia, and all are fan subtitled, i.e. no copies of commercially subtitled material from overseas.

The library runs on a booking system which requires writing your membership number beside the titles you wish to request on the list located in the theatre foyer. Items are then lent out on a monthly basis only at the Saturday night screenings, and can be booked up to one month in advance. Once borrowed, items are due back at the next Saturday screening, but can be returned early at the Sunday screening in between.

To collect your reserved items, present your current membership card at the main entry table any time after the first 30 minutes of a Saturday night screening. Members are currently allowed to borrow 5 items of any combination during a single borrowing period. Also, since the library relies on the consistent return of items by many members, we cannot absolutely guarantee that the titles you booked will be available on the night. If some or all of your items are not available you will be able to select replacements from those remaining towards the end of the night. Any unclaimed discs will also be made available for immediate borrowing by new members who may have joined that night and therefore not reserved anything via the booking list.
